Fleurie Wine

Fleurie is the quintessential introduction to the charm and grace of Cru Beaujolais. One of the region’s ten crus, Fleurie translates into English as ‘flowery’. Unsurprising, then, that the wines from here are celebrated for their floral-driven expression of Beaujolais’ Gamay grape. Nestled on pink granite soils at higher altitudes, Fleurie produces wines with elegance, supple tannins and fragrant aromas of violets, rose petals and red berries. Often described as the most delicate and perfumed of the Beaujolais crus, wines here can be enjoyed young for their freshness or aged for further complexity and silkiness. The best examples tend to come from steep, south-facing slopes.
