Champagne Vintages
Vintage Champagne is one of the wine world’s great indulgences – wines made from a single year that have been carefully crafted and aged prior to release, which doesn’t happen in every single vintage. Only when the season is deemed of sufficient quality does a house release a vintage Champagne, with most producers holding back the wine to age in its cellars for several years before doing so. Of the most recent vintages, 2018, while still young, has many critics reaching for the superlatives, while 2012, 2008, 2004 and 2002 are all highly regarded. Going back further, the 1995/1996 duo are also years to look out for.
