Bordeaux White Wine
Bordeaux’s dry white wines are a singular style that sees Sauvignon Blanc blended largely with Semillon to yield a rich, rounded, food-friendly wine, often further filled out with a lick of oak. Other grape varieties such as Sauvignon Gris and Muscadelle also play a part, the latter lending a more aromatic note. The most celebrated bottlings herald from Pessac-Léognan and the Graves, where producers such as Château Smith Haut Lafitte and Domaine de Chevalier have carved out particular reputations for the style, but Bordeaux dry whites are increasingly found right across the region, from the value-based Entre-deux-Mers to some of the big names of the Médoc, as producers look to diversify their output.
