Domaine de la Vieille Julienne

Domaine de la Vieille Julienne is a biodynamic estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Southern Rhône. It is headed by Jean-Paul Daumen, and his Châteauneuf-du-Papes are balanced, supple and charming; the result of unsurpassed attention to detail. He has grown a following of wine lovers and critics who seek out his wines every vintage. However, the perfectionist in him refuses to release them until they’re bottled, a year later than other producers. They’re always worth the wait. The property has been in the family since 1905 and they converted to biodynamic farming in 1998. Jean-Paul has 20 hectares of vines which lie in a single, north-facing block and it is down to his winemaking prowess that his wines display every nuance of their fine terroir. He bottles his wines unfined and unfiltered.
