Rosé Rioja Wine
Rioja is one of the few Spanish regions that produces a significant amount of rosé wine. While the famous red wines of the DO tend to be dominated by Tempranillo, for rosé, producers generally favour the lighter Garnacha variety (aka Grenache), though this still delivers a style with more weight, colour and fruit than the famously delicate Provençal renderings on the other side of the French border. Some producers also blend in the region’s white grape variety, Viura.
