Italian Rosé Wine
Rosé wine is not a style that has been embraced in many Italian wine regions, but a handful of interesting examples can be found dotted around the country. In Sicily, such wines tend to be made in a more generous, fruit-forward style, their deeper colour indicative of their greater weight compared to the suitably ballet-pump toned examples of Provence. A smattering of other examples can occasionally be found in parts of Tuscany and also Abruzzo, which also veers towards a rendering of rosé that has more in common with a red wine than a white.
