Alsace Gewürztraminer
Alsace specialises in so-called ‘aromatic’ grape varieties – and few varieties are more aromatic than Gewürztraminer. From tropical fruit tones to intense floral notes, Gewürz offers an exotic melange of flavours on the nose, with a similarly rich cocktail on the palate. Alsace is one of the regions to specialise in the variety, with the relatively cool climate and steep slopes offering the perfect environment to produce both dry, spicy versions and sweeter, richer renderings.
