English Sparkling Rosé Wine
As the English wine revolution continues to gain pace, so the range of the country’s wines grows too. Look out, then, for more examples of sparkling rosé – a style of fizz that has become increasingly popular in Champagne over the years and is now finding favour with producers on this side of the channel. English sparkling rosé harnesses the same grape varieties as the country’s (and Champagne’s) white sparkling wines – Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Champagne – but relies a little more on the red varieties, lending an indulgent, darker-fruited richness to the wines, with notable examples coming from Rathfinny, Langham and Nyetimber.
