Bottle Size – Magnum
Magnums make a certain statement when presented on a dinner table – or, for that matter, when served at a more informal gathering. The impact of this larger bottle size – double the standard 750ml, at 1.5 litres – draws the eye and makes guests sit up and notice. But there are other reasons to recommend the format beyond mere aesthetics. Wine aged in magnum will evolve more slowly, and at a more even pace, thereby allowing its full complexity and nuance to emerge over time.
