2018 Aquitania Chardonnay, Viña Aquitania, Malleco Valley
With a leadership team that includes Bruno Prats (former owner and winemaker at Cos d’Estournel) and Ghislain de Montgolfier (former president of Champagne Bollinger), the Viña Aquitania project has a wealth of world-class winemaking experience at its disposal. This Chardonnay comes from vines planted in Traiguén in the Malleco Valley towards the far south of the country. This is a classic cool-climate Chardonnay with zesty-fruited freshness and a mineral character that makes the wine so enjoyable to drink. Given the quality here, the price is scarcely believable.
