2022 White, Andre van Rensburg

The style that Andre has made his own, this is an ageworthy white, with lots of bright yellow fruit, a savoury character to the palate, and also lots of energy. This is surely a match for Andre's old baby, the GVB from Vergelegen.

93/100 – Tim Atkin MW, http://www.timatkin.com

Unlike the first release under his own name, which contained 14% Semillon, the 2022 André van Rensburg white is a varietal Sauvignon Blanc, made principally with grapes from Vergelegen's Schaapenberg block. Barrel-fermented in 20% new wood, this is taut, stony and bone dry, with chiselled acidity and layers of pink grapefruit, gunflint and wet stones. 2024-30
