Swanesang - swansong - turned out to be a false alarm, as Bernard Bredell found another nearby Helderberg Syrah block planted with the same very spicy SH1A clone. Bloody, gutsy and intense, it has lots of brooding damson and blackberry fruit, Cornas-like tannins, some pepper and clove from 90% whole bunches and an energetic, purposeful finish. 2025-32
