2022 Family Vineyards Pinot Noir, Newton Johnson, Hemel-en-Aarde
Due to the vintage being warmer and drier, more stems were used in 2022. This has a lot of tension, which is balanced with ripe yet perfectly fresh fruit, and a lot of mid palate weight. This remains a benchmark for the Hemel-en-Aarde.

94/100 – Tim Atkin MW, timatkin.com

Family Vineyards is an equal combination of north and south-facing sites and is correspondingly self-assured and well balanced. Fermented with 20% whole bunches and aged in 29% new oak, it has lovely weight and freshness, goji berry, pomegranate and wild strawberry flavours and precise, granular tannins. 2024-30
