The 2021 Rubicon is a blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot,5% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. A beautiful, poised and focused Bordeaux blend it is wine that builds in stature on the palate. There is a sense of restraint and detail on the nose with aromas of graphite, violets, wild herbs and cedar which mingle effortlessly with the ripe cassis fruit. There is no sense of excess on the palate, rather a mineral and bright line of freshness that drives through the fruit. The tannins are etched and fine, beautifully framing the fruit with real grace and harmony on the finish.
