Schalk-Willem Joubert's aim is to turn Le Chant Rouge into a widely distributed premium brand like The Chocolate Block and he's certainly on the right path. Merlot based, with the remaining 58% made up of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and bits and pieces of Syrah, Petit Verdot and Sangiovese it's a subtle, refreshing red with notes of plum, red berry and tomato leaf and understated oak. 2024-28
