2021 Paso Robles Zinfandel, Ridge Vineyards, Benito Dusi Ranch
This excellent Zinfandel is sourced from the Dusi vineyard, a good five hours drive south of Sonoma where most of the Zinfandel from Ridge is farmed. There’s a distinct note of exotic spice here with lots of bright, concentrated black cherry fruit and fresh acidity. There’s a bit more weight here than their other Zinfandels, with a balancing chalky note. There are minerally, earthy notes developing alongside some toasty oak flavours and a minty finish.
