2023 Estate Chardonnay, Kumeu River, Kumeu
This has all the classic signatures of Kumeu Estate Chardonnay, with white peach and citrus zest flavours. It's balanced, supple and creamy this year, and very approachable at this early stage. No new oak was used in the vinification of 2023, replaced by a high proportion of 1 and 2 year old barrels allowing the fruit to shine. With its energetic, citrussy acidity, this will age beautifully for at least a decade.
