It comes from the original By Farr vineyard, with the vines planted in 1994, just like the Chardonnay. This is co-fermented with a small amount of Viognier (as is often the case in Côte-Rôtie), and Gary and Nick use a proportion of whole bunches in the fermentation to maintain elegance and lift. This is a must-buy: one of the most thrilling Shiraz we’ve come across.
