The blend this year incorporates an unusually high level of Petit Verdot with the final wine compromised of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. This is a spicy, quite muscular Ornellaia yet with great freshness and focus. The tannins are finely chiselled and compact right now with ample dark berry fruit. The finish is so long and driven with accents of cocoa and cedar spice. All this requires is more time.
