2020 Barbaresco Rabajà, Castello di Verduno, Piedmont
The Rabajà vineyard is facing south-west, with a total area of 1.23 hectares farmed by the estate, all planted with the Nebbiolo variety. The soil here is formed of white earth, with a high chalky clay content, known as the “Marne di Sant’Agata”. From this kind of soil the wines tend to be extremely elegant and fragrant, with a great potential ageing. The 2020 shows notes of black cherry, lavender, rose petal and blood orange. This is quite a powerful wine yet very refined.
