2019 Valpolicella Classico Mostacci, Cantina CàMatta, Veneto
Made up of a blend of 60% Corvina, 30% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella, the grapes come from vines planted in the town of Purano on hilly slopes that are 400 metres above sea level. It is this altitude that provides a coloer microclimate and helps the grapes maintain their nervy acidity. Hand harvested, the grapes are dried for 40 days before they are fermented to concentrate the sugars and flavours, but the alcohol remains just 13.5%. A restrained concentration defines this wine. A bargain.
