2023 Niedermenniger Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett Trocken, 'Mutter Anna', Hofgut Falkenstein, Mosel
Both Herrenberg and Sonnenberg have warmer, slaty schist soils, and so are picked early. While it still has laser-like focus, the Mutter Anna is more generous than in previous years, adding mirabelle, quince and ripe apple to the vibrant citrus and stony mineral flavours, and there is an appealing dash of fresh green herbs on the saline finish.
