2023 Arbois Chardonnay Patchwork, Bénédicte et Stéphane Tissot, Jura
As the name suggests, this is made up of a patchwork of terroirs across the domaine, and produces a benchmark Jura Chardonnay. It is the perfect introduction to the Chardonnay range here, which is a tour de force of single site expression. The vines are aged between 25 and 50 years, and the fruit they produce makes for a fairly senior ‘entry’ wine. The long fermentation in barrel (10% new) gives this complexity and texture, and it has that classic Jura nutty reduction.
