2011 Arbois Vin Jaune Les Bruyères, 12 ans d'Elevage, Bénédicte et Stéphane Tissot, Jura
From Trias soil facing south. Made from barrels aged for double the legal minimum mostly in a dry cellar without topping up. Just a third of the original volume remained from the original barrels because of the concentration effect during the élevage. It is dense and powerful, with almost a sweet, unctuous feel. The dry cellar had the effect of concentrating the alcohol to 18%. This is a truly ageworthy Vin Jaune that feels painfully young in its power at present.
