Sommerberg is the magnificent grand cru vineyard behind the village of Niedermorschwihr. Jean Boxler’s isolated parcels within it, where the vines are extremely old, are the purest and most concentrated expression of just what is possible here. While the E and D cuvées have earned a cult following, the V cuvée is just at the beginning of its journey. V stands for Vanne, a small parcel of very old vines within the grand cru that Jean acquired in 2019. It has immense purity and elegance, and a direct, chalky freshness. Produced only in tiny quantities. Dry (3g/l).
