Brand is one of the great Alsace grand cru sites. In Jean Boxler’s hands, this famous granite site does not disappoint. Of all Jean’s grand cru Rieslings, it is usually the most forward and approachable. The 2021 feels silkier and fuller than the Sommerberg. Its chalky fresh undertow holds it all in place, meaning it is supple and approachable, but with length and precision. It has a sumptuous weight, and whilst it is fabulous already, it will make a fine old wine.
