En Primeur
2023 Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers, Jean Grivot
The clay soils on the south side of Nuits result in a wine with a little more intensity and cherry fruit that wraps across the palate. There is a supple feel to the tannins here with real energy and freshness to match. The finish is finely detailed with subtle notes of wild herbs and liquorice root.

The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru is more backward on the nose compared to Grivot's other wines from the appellation. Its bouquet features dark berry fruit, earthy tones and a touch of ceps. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly lactic texture. It's quite smooth, with just a faint touch of fig, but there's good body and gentle grip toward the toasty finish. This is a fine Nuits Saint-Georges, but in this instance, I prefer the previous vintage.
