2022 La Chenade de Denis Durantou, Lalande de Pomerol
Tasted April 2023. 14.4% abv. 30% new oak. 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Black berry fruit on the nose and palate with lovely savoury dimensions from the Franc. Appetising and saline as the palate goes on and beautifully balanced between that fresh salinity and the supple fruit. Tannins are there and coat the palate but supple and build to a fine finish. Volume produced down by 30% because the dry conditions meant the berries were very small this year.
