2015 Clos du Clocher, Pomerol
This very well placed Domaine in the heart of the Pomerol plateau is a refined, pure wine in 2015. The palate has lovely weight, with growing but very fine tannins. This is likely an excellent choice for affordable Pomerol in a very good vintage.

Critic Scores
92-94/100 – Neal Martin, Wine Advocate

The 2015 Clos du Clocher is a blend of 81% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc that was matured in 65% new oak (15% 'vinification intégrale'). It has an intense bouquet with generous, vivacious dark cherry, cassis and black truffle aromas that do not hold back from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with silky smooth tannin, very nicely poised, quite weighty in the mouth with fine backbone on the finish, suggesting that this Clos du Clocher is a long-term contender.
86-89/100 – Antonio Galloni, vinous.com

The 2015 Clos du Clocher is dark, powerful and super-concentrated. Blackberry jam, bittersweet chocolate, spice, leather and tobacco blossom in a dense, racy Pomerol. Ultimately, the 2015 comes across as overly heavy and lacking in finesse. It would be nice to see a bit more overall freshness and polish in the tannins. The underlying material suggests more is possible. Tasted two times.
95-96/100 – James Suckling, jamessuckling.com

This is massive with so much ripe fruit and velvety tannins, yet it manages to remain fresh and balanced. Full body, round texture and a long finish. Best ever from here.

Dark crimson. Very heady and sweet on the nose. Maybe a little too low in acid for total refreshment, with very drying tannins on the end.
