2014 Château La Lagune, Cru Classé Haut-Médoc
The Médoc’s most southerly classed growth has been on a fine run of form since the Frey family took ownership in 2000 and the 2014 did not disappoint when tasted. The ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon in this vintage have resulted in a higher than usual proportion of 70% making up the blend. Pure menthol and cassis on the nose, with a sturdy tannic frame which will benefit from time in the cellar to unfurl and reveal its true potential.
