2005 Château La Fleur-Pétrus, Pomerol

Immediate impression of sophistication here. Super-ripe nose of ultra-pure fruit, with oak in attendance. La Fleur-Pétrus is a reserved aristocrat in the Pomerol hierarchy – a wine that oozes class. Seductive, with a sensuous texture that belies the grip and tannins that exist in its core. Clearly built for the long-term but, as with all top-flight wines of the 2005 vintage, the temptation will be to pull the cork early, such is the seductive nature of this wine. Fine, linear, immaculately turned out pomerol which we recommend most highly. Drinking 2015-2028.
