2012 FSNV Wine No Label (CT021015)

Best known for their sweet wine, Vin de Constance, Klein Constantia are one of South Africa’s most fabled producers.

Situated just outside Capetown, where the southern oceans temper the heat of an African summer, this makes it perfect for growing Sauvignon Blanc.

Vin de Constance is one of the world’s most historic wines. The estate was founded in 1684, and Vin de Constance was written about by Austen, Dickens and Baudelaire. Napoleon insisted on thirty bottles a month being shipped to him during his exile on St Helena. And in modern times, Sandrine Garbay, cellarmaster at Château d’Yquem, has confided Matt that Vin de Constance remains one of their reference points in sweet wine.

Matt has been at the helm here since 2012, and he’s been making waves in a short period of time. As well as being a master of sweet wines, this young winemaker makes some of the best dry whites we’ve come across.

We'll focus on his world-beating Sauvignons, and the historic and legendary Vin de Constance.

Matt's rarely away from his cellar, such is the care and attention that goes into his wines, this is a rare opportunity to get to meet a rising international star.

Places will be limited to 14 guests.

Date:

Tuesday, 17th September 2019

Time:

From 7:00pm

Ticket:

£160 per person

Location:

Quality Chop House, 88-94 Farringdon Rd, London EC1R 3EA

Closest stations:

Farringdon, Chancery Lane

Menu

To be confirmed closer to the event.

Wines

2019 Cuvée Anabel

2018 Perdeblokke

2018 Clara

2014 Block 381

2018 Block 382

2013 Estate Red

2017 Metis

2007 Vin de Constance

2012 Vin de Constance

2015 Vin de Constance

Other information

To save you the trouble of printing out a ticket, we’ll have a guestlist at the door.

If you purchase more than one ticket, please share the name(s) of your guest(s) with customercare@laywheeler.com so that we know to expect them.

In the event you can no longer make it, we'll do our very best to credit your ticket towards future wines.
