Elena Fucci
Elena Fucci founded her winery in 2000, at a time when the family were deciding whether to sell the vineyards that her grandfather, Generoso, had bought in the 1960s. The grapes were always sold on, until Elena finished her winemaking degree and, fortunately, took over the family property. She makes just one wine, Titolo, from the vineyards that are still farmed by her 86 year old grandfather, which is now in its 17th vintage. And that wine is one of the most respected in Italy. Indeed, Ian d’Agata has written, “Aglianico del Vulture is potentially one of the world’s - not just Italy’s - greatest wines and no single bottling demonstrates its quality better than the Titolo.”
