Domaine de La Bouïssière

Domaine la Bouïssière sits in the foothills of the towering Dentelles de Montmirail mountains in Gigondas in the Rhône valley. Brothers Thierry and Gilles Faravel have some of the most incredible vineyard sites in the appellation. Their wines are elegant and complex, evocative of the untamed hills of Gigondas. They have 19 hectares across Gigondas but also have holdings in Vacqueyras and Beaumes de Venise. Their classic blend has a high proportion of Mourvèdre which takes on the floral, decadent aromas that the soils, Mediterranean sun and skilled winemaking impart. Thierry likes to age in oak, he believes it softens and refines his Gigondas. The cherry on the cake is a cuvée only made in better years: Gigondas Le Font de Tonin, which comes from the old vines planted on high altitude terraces.
