Château Rahoul

While Château Rahoul can be dated back to the 17th century, it is only more recently that its brilliance has been uncovered. Although it has the backing from Bordeaux powerhouse Dourthe, its prices remain reasonable for a Graves of this calibre, which offers the coveted quality-price ratio. Its change in fortunes began in the 1970s when a succession of owners put it on the path to success, starting with Englishman David Robson, who re-cultivated the vineyards and began bottling at the property. Alain Thienot and Dourthe have since continued that work and the 40 hectare vineyard now makes reds of finesse and elegance and arguably some of the best whites in the appellation.
