Château Pape Clément

While many Bordeaux estates can claim a long history, Château Pape Clément has one of the longest. Vines were planted here in 1300, and the estate was presented to Betrand de Goth, who later not only became Pope Clément V but continued his vinous legacy by moving the papal seat to Avignon thereby also forming nearby Rhône powerhouse, Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Bernard Magrez has been in charge since 1983, and has extensively replanted and modernised Pape Clément, creating a modern day trailblazer. No expense is spared in its production - research into the character of individual plots, investment in the best technology in the vineyards and winery and rigorous grape selection ensure the highest quality fruit becomes the finest possible wines.
